R/C Aircraft: Where Do I Start?

For beginners in the hobby of R/C model aircraft, it is important to know what level of flight you are capable of and not to step too deep into territory that you aren’t ready to be meddling in. This is the biggest reason it is important to understand the level of experience needed to fly your R/C model airplane. A nice way to gauge this is to look at planes on a scale of difficulty. The perfect type of aircraft for beginners would be what people in the hobby refer to as “trainer planes”. A trainer plane is a simple, slow flying, 3-channel aircraft. These aircraft have very limited aerobatics and tend to be very docile. Some perfect trainer planes for your beginning hobbyists can be found in Hobby Lobby’s famous Telemaster series. This has been a long standing series of aircraft that has introduced many enthusiastic pilots into the hobby for over 40 years. These airplanes are the perfect place to start for the pilot who has been putting in their simulator time and is ready for some REAL airtime with a plane that doesn’t come with the handicap of a reset button. :)
