The skies were prime for a flight on Saturday the 18th at NEAT Fair 2010. It was “plane” to see why people called this day the perfect day at NEAT when you took a look at the lines of people that stood waiting for their chance to get a piece of the sky with their favorite model airplane. There were six lines and people still were waiting for fifteen minutes or more before they were allowed their turn to fly.
This had been going on for quite a while before several of those who had some of the giant scale vintage R/C planes started talking about doing their own short demo. It may not have been in the schedule, but this group of R/C enthusiasts managed to secure spots in line that allowed them to all get their planes in the air at the same time. People were thrilled seeing this unique display of the older large scale aircraft. Both of Hobby Lobby’s representatives had been a part of this exciting flying experience. Jason Cole piloted Pilot-1 Gilmore Red Lion 1/4 ARF while Mike Hines flew the Pilot-1 Waco YKS-6 1/4 Scale ARF. This was truly an unexpected crowd pleaser at NEAT 2010!
