Crawling for Tots!

20131123_110230The cold weather didn’t keep several R/C Rock Crawl drivers from participating in the Toys for Tots toy drive this past Saturday.

SRC www.scalerockcrawlers.com and Hobby Lobby International hosted the event and asked that drivers bring an unopened and unwrapped toy to help make this christmas the best for kids who are less fortunate.
The event collected almost 4 full donation boxes. Way to go!!

20131123_110954Driver’s of all ages competed on the rugged trial and the boulder course for the fastest times.   HLI employee and event organizer Chris Wampler says the turnout was great spite how cold it was.  Chris also said “there will be lots of happy kids this Christmas because of this event…”

Practice…Practice…Practice

Phoenix R/C Pro Simulator V4.0 w/DX5eFor a newbie in the world of R/C, simulator time is certainly a gift, especially since pressing the “reset” button is a lot easier than gluing a plane back together. I can’t help but laugh at myself these days, as I struggle with the different toggles and buttons. Unlike most of the population my age, I had actually taken pride in my tactical avoidance of video games.

So I’m staring at the computer screen, playing an amazingly fun game, and somewhat at a

dx5 sim

loss for how to think in it, or be in it. Changing perspective from ground

pilot to cockpit mode is the hardest thing for me to conceptualize. Having not had a lot of experience with either perspective, I

struggle with adapting quick enough to keep the plane in a continual state of control. I often get stuck in ground pilot mode, and forget that some of the controls now run contrary to what I would expect of them.

It’s one of the greatest frustrations I’m currently faced with, but also one of my favorite challenges. I’ve always enjoyed the process of any kind of mental mastery, and thrive from pushing my mind to adapt that much faster. So I fly a little, crash, and reset, enjoying every step I take that gets me that much closer to having a mastery of the plane.

For you, it’s as much a part of your flying enjoyment as what you fly with it. Bind-N-Fly technology makes it possible to have all kinds of exciting ready-to-fly experiences without giving any of that up.

Middle Tennessee R/C Club Swap Meet

On November, 2nd the Middle Tennessee R/C Clubs Association AMA Chapter #65 hosted their annual regional swap meet.
The doors opened at 8am on the dot!!
Shopper’s hurried in looking for just the right plane to add to their hangar.
Sellers and the club were both happy to see such a large turnout this year.
Hobby Lobby had 3 tables there and we brought several of our planes to sell… Happy to say we only brought back just a few.
Thank you Middle Tennessee R/C Club for hosting a great event.

Come to Hobby Lobby to see the trains

At the Hobby Lobby Headquarters in Brentwood, Tennessee, we get to enjoy trains every day, several times a day… It’s the real thing – massive and long, typically CSX trains filled with freight bound for nearby Radner Yard that are rolling by.  It’s fun to imagine many of the containers they carry are bound for Hobby Lobby and filled with Telemasters we’ve designed.  There are two tracks running side by side and with an occasional blast from the train engineer pulling the horn, people watching get a thrill.

Come discover the original platform, a “train viewing station” here on the property that give customers a unique opportunity to observe this spectacle.   The thunder and majesty of a passing train is exciting.  I find it particularly heart warming when I see grandpa, or dad and the kids eating a packed lunch awaiting the rumble of that next train.  This is your invitation to come check it out.  It’s the best place in middle Tennessee to watch trains, and it is waiting for you to enjoy.

I just wish there was still a caboose to see.
